Stopping Outbreaks, Saving Lives

The AmeriAxis Foundation deploys rapid-response medical teams to Ebola outbreak zones, providing emergency treatment, isolation facilities, and community education to prevent disease spread. Our integrated approach combines clinical excellence with community engagement to stop transmission chains and save lives.

Since our Ebola response began, we have established a reputation for rapid deployment and culturally sensitive intervention. Working alongside local health ministries and global health partners, we've achieved survival rates well above the regional average through aggressive treatment protocols and early isolation.

Our Comprehensive Approach

  • Emergency Treatment Centers: 24/7 isolation and care for confirmed cases with dedicated Ebola treatment units (ETUs) staffed by specialized international and local clinicians.
  • Mobile Testing Units: Rapid diagnostic testing in remote communities using GeneXpert technology, delivering results within hours to enable immediate isolation and contact tracing.
  • Community Health Education: Training local volunteers on prevention, early symptom recognition, and culturally appropriate safe burial practices that honor traditions while preventing transmission.
  • Protective Equipment Distribution: Supplying full PPE kits to frontline health workers, including training on proper donning/doffing protocols to ensure zero healthcare worker infections.
  • Contact Tracing Network: Digital and community-based contact tracing systems that identify and monitor at-risk individuals throughout the 21-day incubation period.

Current Response Areas

Active programs in high-risk regions:

  • Uganda: Three mobile testing units operating in border districts, with a 50-bed treatment center in Mubende district
  • Democratic Republic of Congo: Supporting existing ETUs in North Kivu and providing community health worker training
  • At-risk border regions: Pre-positioned supplies and rapid-response teams ready for deployment within 48 hours

Our teams are also conducting cross-border surveillance and coordinating with WHO and CDC to prevent international spread.

Impact & Achievements

  • 0 healthcare worker infections in our directly managed treatment centers through rigorous PPE protocols
  • 2,500+ patients treated since program inception with 98% survival rate for early-presenting cases
