Healing the Invisible Wounds of War in Ukraine

Mental health support for families coping with trauma and displacement

The Psychological Toll of Conflict

As the conflict in Ukraine continues into another year, the mental health crisis affecting millions of civilians has become one of the most pressing humanitarian challenges. Our Mind Axis teams are working across Ukraine and in neighboring countries to provide critical psychological support to those traumatized by war.

Dr. Olga Ivanova, our lead psychologist in Lviv, explains: "We're dealing with complex trauma on a massive scale. Children who have witnessed destruction, families separated by conflict, elderly people who have lost everything—the psychological impact will be felt for generations if we don't intervene now."

"After our apartment building was hit, my daughter stopped speaking for three weeks. The psychologists from AmeriAxis worked with her every day. Now she's starting to talk again and even draws pictures. They gave us back our hope when we had none left."
