Women's Cooperatives in Malawi

AmeriAxis Foundation has established women's cooperatives across rural Malawi, providing women with skills training, business development, and microfinance to build sustainable livelihoods and lift their families out of poverty.

Building Economic Independence

Women in rural Malawi face significant barriers to economic participation. Our cooperative model provides training in sewing, food processing, and agricultural skills, combined with access to savings and loans.

  • Skills Training: Sewing, food preservation, and agricultural production
  • Microfinance: Savings groups and small loans for business startups
  • Market Access: Connecting women to fair-trade markets for their products
  • Leadership Development: Training women to lead their communities

Community Impact

Over 500 women have joined cooperatives, with many now earning enough to send their children to school, access healthcare, and build better homes. The program is expanding to reach more communities.
